Hello Steemians, I'm very excited to finally be writing to you. I discovered Steemit in November while researching how to build a Social VR website based on a blockchain. A simple search of social media blockchain projects led me here and I've been deeply fascinated since.
What I first saw as a vibrant (and super nice) community of creators and innovators looking to make money off of their content in a new and better way. An effort worth applauding in itself. Soon, I found a much deeper meaning to Steemit and the STEEM ecosystem. I read some powerful pieces from 
In short, THIS PLACE IS GREAT and I'm so happy to have stumbled upon it. So much so that I've told everyone I know to get on it before I've even had the time to sit down and start blogging myself!
So, who am I?
My name is Brando Moon, I'm a former Google employee who left 6 months ago to tackle the big question "How do I build a career for myself on my terms?" My original idea was to learn how to be a freelance programmer and use that income to supplement my dream of being an influencer.
The plan got thrown off before it even started when my girlfriend asked if I knew about Ethereum on our way back from my celebratory "congrats on following your dreams" roadtrip. She had been told it was "The next Bitcoin" and to invest. I hadn't heard of it but was curious so we whipped up Laura Shin's podcast "Unchained" and I've been down the rabbit hole ever since.
Soon I was researching and buying cryptos as fast as I could learn about them. Convinced Web3.0 is legit and the revolution is coming, I diverted almost all of my "learn programming" time to studying crypto. Hell I even got so hype as to consider a career in smart contract development!
I never cut out time to build my dream of being an influencer though. I believe influencers and celebrities hold the greatest power to create worldwide mindset shifts as they have everyone's attention. Thus I NEED to be an influencer if I want to create worldwide social change.
So far, my efforts have been towards scaling my influence on Youtube. I have 4 channels I've recently started over there. All of them center around the question "how can I add value to x community?"
1 about fashion (Brando Moon).

1 about ASMR (Brando ASMR).
and 1 about weed (Brando Blaze).
I wish I could share all of myself on one channel but the Youtube algorithm greatly favors sticking to one topic. But with Steemit now I have a new chance to share my full journey online and hopefully prove you can make a living online while doing it.
Here at Steemit I hope to add value by sharing my journey of becoming an online entrepreneur. In the past 6 months I've made money building a crypto portfolio and starting an eCommerce store on Amazon. I also want to share lots of positivity and inspiration which I find to be the core of what makes Steemit a great community. Really I just want to put as much good content on this platform as I can think of. I want to see this place grow!
We all deserve to make money for the value we add online. I'm ready to be a part of the community that finally makes that dream a reality. I'm ready to be a Steemian.
