If you are new to crypto you might not know that the market is like a pendulum between Bitcoin and alt coins. It goes like this:
Bitcoin gets a lot of hype and draws in new investors. These new investors then think Bitcoin is too expensive or archaic and seek out the "Bitcoin killer" or "Ethereum killer" of more recent. Hype and speculation cause a lot of alt coins to blow up in value even when most of the alt coins don't have a real product yet. Then a combination of overbought alt coins correcting in price and Bitcoin getting new investors/retailers/news brings money back into Bitcoin and out of alt coins. It's happened many of times and it looks like it's about to happen again.
PLEASE be careful when buying into speculative alt coins, if you're going to do it know when to pull out and reinvest into coins with real products/services & developer communities (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin).
