Hello, to the wonderful people of steemit.
This is my introduction post into your world. I am very excited to take part in this platform. I heard about this site through my husband. I was a bit leery about it as I don't have much experience with social media. My first introduction to it was in conversation many years back. Someone was attempting to explain Myspace to me, I didn't get it and thought it was stupid, as I did with facebook, twitter, vines, instagram, snapchat, etc. One social media platform that I am involved in to this day is Linkedin. I originally created an account to look for employment. I found some and was not really active on it until I was laid-off in January of this year. A definite silver lining to the bad news of not having a secular paycheck :|... So, I would sit and watch my husband get into it on here and was inspired by his passion to get involved on subjects he found important and had ample knowledge on. This is what jump started me into commenting within Linkedin. I absolutely loved it, it seemed like a sort of therapy for me, I was commenting, making post and people where noticing and taking in account my words!!! There and then I realized that My words and others words made a difference. I realized that maybe I had a voice that was worth considering and others had view points that I love to read and engage in. Then the doom set in, ADMINSTRATORS!!! YUCK!!!! My truths where being moderated, hiddened, edited!!!! My words were being censored!!!! So here I am in hopes to share my truths regardless of being politically correct, censored and silenced, I've FINALLY made it here. I am 35 years old, Had my only child when I was 20, finally met the love of my life at 32, and I am very excited to be a part of THIS community. I welcome everything that comes with it good or bad. With this introduction I would like to share an original poem I'VE WRITTEN. Please feel free to enjoy or not and comment about it. Thank you Stemmit!!!! I can't wait.
My mind twirls in the abundance of absolute swirls that go on forever, tormenting me with every single curve, looking to the world for adverbs and verbs just to keep me above the verve of insanity. To be alluring and enduring this life that is within me without losing all my humanity, is the war raging constantly enraging, engaging permeating my psyche. At sudden lost, I delve deeper into the abyss at once remiss so to resurface for just a taste of eternal bliss, to no availl I sink back down covered in my memories veils, But I fight and kick furiously to rise getting back to that place I can surmise, but my mind is cruel and believe me to be all lies. holding on to my last shred of decency, I pick my head up and shroud myself in secrecy. To make it through the day to ease my mind back into to play, telling myself to think about the latter, because life fucking matters, swimming back into my peaceful bay and at last letting my mind lay.
Thank you,
Brandi
