The details are sketchy, but the first court cae over BTC may be interesting.
Not perhaps re the case in itself, but more from the perspective of how a Judiciary deals with the technology.
Simple thing like rules of evidence etc.

As the article points out, so far crypto cases around the world have been dealt with on a case by case basis.
In effect a single judge is making determinations and setting precedence.
And with appeals likely due to the large sums involved, it seems that the judiciary are doing the job of legislators.
In other words we are making up rules as we go along.
Why? simply because regulators have been more focused on restricting the crypto industry via SEC and the like, rather than drafting new legislation of the new era.

A 'rule book' for all in the industry would enhance & support the new technology industry and help it grow, rather than the regulation stifling or holding back that is happening.

Crypto like computers when they arrived on the scene back in the 70's , needs new ideas, thoughts, discussions by those in the know, then we can create a 'rule book' that has relevance, rather than trying to apply old school concepts & ideas.

Time will tell
