This all sounds serious enough.
Some very clever hackers involved by the sounds of it.
But.....
I find the article somewhat 'lacking' and wonder if this is a "beat up" story.
the TL;DR:
- Not many people have millions in BTC.
- The examples / cases quoted involve a rouge telcom company worker
- getting someones phone number may access accounts, would that mean all data on their sim?
- if you had millions in BTC would you keep it on your mobile?
Perhaps others with more tech knowledge can dig into this & give us a real TL;DR and a view for us mere mortals.
