It has been a while since I have done a post for 
I actually had a hard time finding photos to use that didn't have us front and center. For obvious privacy reasons I try to keep the photos of friends and family members to a minimum. Especially kids that aren't mine!
Although I had been to Disney World when I was a kid, it was awesome seeing how much things had changed (and some that didn't) nearly three decades later.
We had some pretty sweet accommodations at the Saratoga Springs resort in the form of this "treehouse". Although a short shuttle ride away from the park, Saratoga Springs is considered "on property". If I recall we were there about five days and we got the four park "hopper" pass. This basically allowed us to dedicate one day to each of the parks. We also got the meal pass which allowed us to eat pretty much anywhere we wanted for a fixed price.
The majority of our time was spent going to character meals and doing the princess type stuff that the girls wanted to do. I didn't really mind though. As I said, seeing everything through their eyes was phenomenal.
It was October when we went and Disney really does their best to go all out decorating for each of the holidays.
There was a section over by the Mad TeaCups ride that had these sayings on a wall.
I wish fitness trackers would have been more of a thing back then. I couldn't tell you how many steps we probably got in those five days.
We spent our first day in the Magic Kingdom Park.
This is the park that you normally think about when you see and hear Disney World. It has the famous castle patterned after that one in Germany. Neuschwanstein Castle!
If I remember correctly it was very hot on this day and there were a ton of people there. We had to arrive early so my niece could do the princess tea party and we needed to stay late for the electric light parade down main street.
It was seriously a long day and I was basically spent by the end of it.
EPCOT is probably my favorite park and we just happened to be there during the International Wine and Food Festival. It was a really awesome experience, but to be honest there wasn't as much to do for the kids. I think they got a little bored and we didn't spend as much time there as I had hoped.
I did get some great macro shots of some flowers. Who knew back then there would be such a following for macro-photography in 2019...
Luckily, I did get to partake in some of the International Wine and Food Festival festivities! Hopefully this isn't the closest I will ever come to Germany!
We spent a day in the Disney's Hollywood Studios, but I didn't get very many great pictures from there. The last day we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom though...
I remember taking a safari ride here, so I am not sure that can really count as walking. The other days should have made up for this isolated indiscretion though and I feel confident I can still submit this for #wednesdaywalk.
It really was a fantastic trip. I think there is a lot of truth when people say that it is fun for all ages. I would actually be interested in coming back some day without kids, just to explore at a more reasonable pace.
I think every should make the trip here at least once in their life, just to say they have been. From what I have seen the Florida park seems much better than the California one though I have never been. Take a look at the square acreage comparison between the two sometime and I think you will see what I mean.
Be advised, it's not a cheap trip. Park admission seem to go up every year and if you want to try to visit all of them you need to multiply that by four. It is definitely something I would have to save up for if I wanted to go again.
