It's official, as I mentioned in my post yesterday, if I wanted to retire, I could do it right now with a full 30 years of service under my belt. It's funny I say "if I wanted to retire", because I mean who doesn't want to right? If I could retire doesn't really fit either though since I actually can, I just might not have a house to live in any longer if I did. It's true, I don't see myself going anywhere else anytime soon, but what this situation does offer me is a bit of freedom to explore other options. The good thing is, I still have a job and despite how things are changing in the world, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

This gives me the ability to be picky about opportunities that come my way, and if something doesn't feel quite right, I can simply pass and keep doing what I am doing. Honestly, it would have to be a pretty big deal for me to leave the comfort of my current position. You never know though!

In the meantime, I just keep showing up and doing what I do hoping that one day it actually makes a difference. Kind of like HIVE. It's hard to find things to get excited about in crypto these days. Despite that, there are still projects out there building because either they believe in what they are doing, or they are delusional enough to think their token will eventually moon. Hopefully it's the former, but I think we know that isn't always the case.

Sadly, HIVE doesn't get a free pass from being one of those tokens. So much potential, but also so much abuse, so many ideas, and so many opinions.

Historic HIVE Tracker

Speaking of potential, I think it was last week, I mentioned that I had started doing some AI coding. I used the Google AI studio and had it create an application that can pull historic data for an account showing what their HIVE Power was at specific points in time. I then had the system add in the value of HIVE at that point in time using the CoinGecko API. What that gives us is the "HIVE Power Historical Explorer" that you can access at this webpage:

Thanks to @seattlea and a few other people for giving me the info I need to get this project published to Vercel and thus accessible to everyone. It's pretty impressive what AI can do. Of course, anyone that can type in a prompt can have AI come up with something like this, so I don't consider this to be anything special. In fact, it's really no different than me going to someone's wallet and posting the value like I am dropping some kind of knowledge bomb on everyone. That would be silly, the data is all public for anyone to access. Though I am proud of what I had AI create here, I know it is really nothing special.

What I really like about it is all the extra stuff that it added to the code that I didn't even ask for. Which I guess is a whole other can of worms if you want to go down that road. The fact that you can view different aspects of the chart like "MoM Change" "% Growth %", and stuff like that is pretty cool.

The one thing I don't understand is according to the CoinGecko API, somewhere around January of 2018 the HIVE price hit close to $7.27. I think what is happening is since HIVE didn't even exist yet then, it is using the STEEM price to fill in the flanks for my account since it started well before HIVE was even created.

If that's the case, it's pretty inuitive on the part of the AI right?

I'm actually hoping to do a bit more "coding" in the future, I just haven't figured out what I am going to do yet. It would be cool to create something that integrates HIVE Keychain and allows you to take actions on your account, but then that opens the door to possible security issues that I might not know how to fix. Right now just pulling static data from the chain is so much easier and less stressful.

Long term though, I really want to start learning more about AI so I am ready for the future. Perhaps that second career I was alluding to earlier in this post has something to do with AI?

This is just a friendly reminder about The Pub Community on HIVE. It's an open forum for most any kind of post as long as you follow the rules. I have had to mute a few posts in the community since we were created because they obviously used AI to generate the posts. Despite my dalliance in AI lately, I will not tolerate that in the community. Sadly, it's getting more common and harder to detect, so who knows what the future will look like.

I also can't promise huge upvotes on your comment in The Pub. I haven't been able to get a curation group to start visiting it regularly, but if you do post in there, I usually try to give a small upvote with my personal account. Which means, as I grow, you grow. We are all in this somewhat sinking ship together, so we need to lift each other up when we can.
