Just in case you weren't quite ready for fall to be here and then the inevitable chill of winter that eventually settles on Michigan, Mother Nature gave you a bit of respite this past weekend. In fact, on Monday this week, we set new record highs in my region of the world with temperatures topping the 90 degree mark. In October. The weekend was just a bit cooler, but it still offered us some amazing weather. In fact, it was so amazing that I did very little work this past weekend outside of helping mrsbozz@mrsbozz clean the house. Instead, we simply spent time outside enjoying the weather.

No mowing the lawn, no raking leaves, just sitting on the deck, reading a book, and waiting for the BBQ to be done.

Actually, that's not exactly how the weekend started. We woke up close to 8 which is sleeping in quite a bit for us and had some breakfast before we started talking about the rest of our day. I figured my wife would want to go for a walk, but she surprised me when she gave me a choice of either going for a walk, or playing a round of disc golf. Of course you know what I picked right?

We headed to one of the local courses that I haven't played since the beginning of the summer and as she listened to her audiobook and caddie for me, I played a fairly decent round of disc golf.

I couldn't buy a birdie, but I only got one double bogey and just a few bogeys with a lot of pars mixed in there. It wasn't my best round on this course, somehow at the beginning of the summer I shot a 4 over which still has me a bit baffled. I don't quite remember it, but everything must have been going right for me in that round.

Instead, on this particular Saturday morning I shot a +11 which isn't my worst, so I am not too unhappy about it. Like I said, I couldn't get a birdie to save my life. If I had gotten just a couple of those, things might have been a bit better for me.

The course was pretty deserted and it only took us about an hour to play the round which added up to just shy of two miles of walking. As you can see from the photos, a lot of the leaves have already started to fall from the trees, so that made it pretty easy to find my discs and kept the hazards when I strayed off the fairway to a minimum. mrsbozz@mrsbozz said that my footwork seemed to be off and it looked like I was uncomfortable throwing. I didn't feel it myself, but my score is a pretty good indication that I wasn't totally "locked in".

After we got home, we cleaned the house quick, and then I put a rack of baby back ribs on the Weber Kettle that I had taken out of the freezer a couple days prior. I put a thin coating of yellow mustard on them, then used my all purpose bbq rub to give them a nice coating on the outside. I threw my Slow N Sear accessory into my grill and loaded it up with charcoal for the 4 to 5 hour cook I had ahead of me.

Once the grill got up to about 250 degrees internal temperature, I put the ribs on and closed the lid for a couple of hours.

I went inside and turned on the noon football games, settled into the couch, and read my book while I had the college football on in the background. After mrsbozz@mrsbozz got up from her nap, we moved the TV out to the deck and spent the rest of the afternoon out there waiting for dinner to be ready and watching the Michigan State football game.

At about the two or three hour mark, I had to open up the grill to move the coals around a bit. I was starting to lose temperature inside the kettle, so I knew I need to increase the airflow to get things back up in that 250 degree range. There were still plenty of coals in the Slow N Sear, they just needed a bit more room to breathe.

Well, I really wanted to share some more pictures with you, but unfortunately, I am going to have to cut this post short. I just got the error that you see above, and I am not sure if it is HIVE thing or a PeakD thing. If it is a PeakD thing I might have to switch my posting to Ecency fully. If it is a HIVE thing, then I don't know what I am going to do. Maybe take less pictures? My wife would probably love that!

I'm hoping this is just a temporary fluke. I make a point of downsizing all of my images before I post them, but apparently it isn't enough. I'm not sure I want to compromise quality for the sake of meeting some threshold.

Hopefully I can get some answers by the end of the day!
