Have you ever heard of the temple in the sea? It is a national treasure of Trinidad and Tobago. During the colonial days, the indentured laborer Siewdass Sadhu painstakingly manually filled in the ocean near the coast to build a Hindu temple in the sea after the first one was broken down by authorities at the time on land. The place has since then been called Siewdass Sadhu Temple In the Sea and is used by the Hindu community in Trinidad regularly. It is also a major tourist attraction/ site and is a regular field trip for students and schools.
