A Day at the Range

This past summer my teenage Daughter and Son as well as a couple of their friends went up to a National Forest Shooting range that is only about 45 minutes from the house. It was during this time they learned some very valuable life lessons about firearm safety they even became more comfortable with different caliber of firearms. For instance my daughter did not feel confident shooting anything more than her .22 long rifle by the end of the day she was shooting her .50 cal Traditions Buckstalker Muzzleloader with 100 grains of powder.

This time reminds me of the passage of Scripture in Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”(KJV) If we can train our children in firearm safety when they are teens and they learn to respect the firearm in their hands and keep in mind the Ten Commandments of Firearm Safety and they see the Firearm as a tool to put meat on their table rather than a weapon that is to be used as they please it truly is a lesson they will not forget and will carry through their adult hood. In this blog are a few pictures of our day at the range this summer. What a blessing it was to teach these youngsters firearm safety.
