SegWit2x is dead long live SegWit
November 8 was officially discontinued development and launch hard forks SegWit2x for not quite obvious reasons.
Immediately after this famous programmer Bitcoin Core Peter Todd criticized the initiators of the project.
"A letter with the cancellation SegWit2x signed by Mike Belsham, Sensecam by Casares, Jihan Wu, Jeff garzik's, Peter Smith and Eric Worrisom is if you interesuetes who put millions in claims during the time you spent on this mess," said Todd.
Whether the funds invested in the failed hardwork wasted, we learn in the coming months. As if a bad project will encourage the community to reassess the need for scaling, can be considered as an attempt SegWit2x justified, writes Newsbtc.
Meanwhile, other companies, including Bitfinex and the Blockchain will continue to integrate the Protocol SegWit, originally proposed by Bitcoin Core, since the scalability problem of Bitcoin remains unresolved.
