It was just another cold morning as it has been for the past two days. Today is actually making it the third consecutive days of having a cold morning even though the afternoons are as hot as the desert. Becky couldn't hold her thoughts about what today would bring to her as it would be another to job hunt so she turned to Julius who laid by her side all covered up from head to toe under the sheets. It has been over six months since Julius and Becky saw each other. The funny part is that the mornings have been cold for three consecutive days since Julius arrival in town as Becky thought for a moment that Julius brought the cold with him. Can life be predicted? Becky asked herself while holding tightly unto Julius because they never thought they'd ever lay eyes on each other. As the thoughts were running through her mind, the alarm started blaring that took the thoughts off. Julius turned to off the alarm without Becky moving at all.
"Good morning damsel, it's another day to hit the road", Julius said with his face looking gloomy. Becky didn't utter a word until Julius tried getting out of bed and realized that it's another cold day and quickly returned to lay on the bed.
"Good morning J, where did you think you were going, I laid down here to hold you and you want to leave without letting me know," she said this with her displeasure showing on he face. Julius laid immediately on the bed and kissed her softly as they both used their bodies against the cold.
A knock was heard as the two slowly stared at themselves with they both wondered who was at the front door at this time of the day, a very cold morning at that but they ignored the door thinking the person would leave. The knock continued after a minutes time and Julius had to ask if she was expecting anyone. The knock continued as she had to go open the door. Opening the door to behold the sight of her mum as she asked, "Becky, why did you keep that long outside on a week day and by the way thought you had somewhere you are going to?
Mum you not supposed to be here till two days what's wrong, I'm calling dad. You are ruining my time, no this is unfair and not what we agreed.
Sighting a shadow, mum shoved Becky from her road walking straight into her room and without seeing anyone and asking "where is he?" with a smile on her face. Becky only ignored her as she continued complaining.
"Becky, I'm here already and are you sending me away in the cold of the morning," with a smile on her face.
With anger in her eyes she only hissed and took the bags from where mum dropped it and entered the spare room when she heard, " Oh, Julius, it's been forever." Becky's heart started racing because she didn't tell mum that she had someone over not to even mention Julius who mum loved so much. Mum was really excited to see Julius who only came from behind her puting his arm around her as she screamed. Seeing Julius was a sight to behold as she yelled Becky's name.
"How long has it been, Julius? It's just amazing to see you, so you're the reason my daughter is treating me like a stranger."
Mum lifted Becky's phone as she showed her that she called four times without anyone picking the call but was feeling better that Julius was the one keeping from picking her calls.
"Mum, it's really good seeing you, Becky didn't tell me you were coming, it's a great pleasure seeing you," Julius said.
Becky enter the room smiling at Julius as he focused on her mum as mum was also smiling at him.
"Oh sorry Becky for bad timing, now I understand the reason for not picking your calls and answering the door and also not being happy to see me but none of that matters because I'm going to prepare a delicious meal before you head out and it's only going to be fun for me as I'd spend it with Julius till you return."
On hearing those words, Becky said she wasn't going anywhere that day until she ended the joke as she went into the bathroom to shower.
Julius and Becky have always been friends since childhood until Julius travelled out for his master's degree without informing anyone and without a goodbye but here he is today back for his girl and now mum is just happy that her daughter can finally be happy.
