Why Frisby’s Bitcoin Book Still Shines
This book isn’t exactly new, The Future of Money came out in 2014, and Bitcoin itself was only about five years old at that point. I picked it up out of curiosity, and also because it’s written by quite a special guy, if you want to put it that way. Dominic Frisby is an author and journalist who deals with finance topics, but he’s also a comedian.
Of course, you get some Bitcoin basics, but the best part for me was the chapter about Satoshi. Frisby really dug deep and offers fascinating details about how Satoshi worked and what we can learn from his posts and emails. I had never seen this stuff presented so clearly, so condensed, and so well explained before.
Another great part is the anecdote about a Bitcoin meetup in London around 2013, and the story of how he tested the Silk Road darknet marketplace to buy some weed.
I can really recommend this book. I listened to the audiobook and got to hear his voice as well, a good narrator with a very pleasant British accent.
