Three photos, one aggressively grey sky, and more steps than yesterday. That’s the whole story, no director’s cut needed.
The weather toned it down today, flat clouds, zero drama, like the sky hit snooze and never recovered. Good. Less distraction. The canal stayed quiet, trees stood there looking unfinished, and the path curved on without asking how motivated I felt. This is post surgery recovery in its natural habitat, not cinematic, not inspiring, just functional.
A few geese flew overhead like a moving deadline, fast, efficient, completely uninterested in my progress. Rude, but fair. Down by the bridge, swans floated around like they’d already completed recovery years ago and were now retired consultants.
7.5k steps. Nothing heroic. Nothing broken. No medals handed out. Just more movement than yesterday, which is the only metric that matters right now.
Less weather, more steps. Grey skies don’t slow progress, they just remove excuses. Tomorrow will probably look exactly like this, and honestly, that’s kind of the point.
