She came to me crying and begging, her grandson was missing. ...
It was a hot Sunday afternoon, and my skin was completely soaked with sweat. I stood next to the gate which was the only entrance to the market and carried out my duty, monitoring everyone as they went about their duties while making sure that everyone who entered or left the market was properly searched.
Things were looking good until, an old lady with white hair, wrinkled skin, and a walking cane walked by she was crying uncontrollably.
So I decided to ask what the problem was.
She told me that she lost her grandson who is about six years old in the crowd.
She used her cane to hit her foot and cried even louder. She was beginning to create a scene so, I decided that I would help.
So I took her around the market square and we visited the whole area including where she had previously been and we did it using my security scooter. After a complete one hour of searching for her grandson, I decided to stop because I was tired. we stop the scooter by a lemonade stand that was close to a candy store. I look at the old lady still weepy but also sweating and I offered her a glass of lemonade. But instead, she took the lemonade and threw the whole thing on the ground causing a scene as she backed it up with a cry that drew the attention of every passerby. I still tried to console her but to no avail.
Just then a kid walked out of the candy store with a shopping bag in his hand. "Grandma?!' he asked.
She turned around and replied to him by calling his name" Junior!", and then locked him in a bear hug.
"Where have you been?", She asked. I looked at her and the boy puzzled but still relieved.
"Have been here waiting for you....or did you forget again?!", The boy enquire with a smile on his face as though he never committed an offense. .." you asked me to wait for you in the candy store while you went to pee...did you forget", he asked again but the old lady's face glowed with laughter." oh, that's true!!!.. oh my gosh... I'm getting old quickly."
She looked at me with a smile and then apologized for the stress. I returned the smile and showed them the way out. And then I returned to my post, from where I stopped until the sunset.
