I completely understood all of today's lesson so why am I pulling out my hair with this homework?
This weekend's project is a recap of all of the week's lessons built into one responsive website. The only new material covered today was media queries, which wasn't too difficult to understand. And I managed to do fine on the lessons this week. So in theory, this project should be pretty simple. But somehow that theory just doesn't seem to be true. With only a third of the HTML done I managed to write at least 4 pages worth of CSS that is more bloated and useless than (insert political joke here). So for the first time this week I am forced to do my homework AT HOME.
I'm not in panic mode yet, even though a few casual glances at other people's work shows that I've got some catching up to do this time. At least I've got all day tomorrow and most of the weekend to get it done.
This lesson has taught me a few things I didn't know that I didn't know. For example, I thought I understood opacity on images, but it took me practically forever to adjust my background image. I also thought I understood flexbox and the parent/child relationship but I'm finding that my layouts all look like a toy chest of Legos because I'm not using DIVs properly.
In spite of that I am still miles ahead of where I was a week ago. And by the end of next week I'll hopefully be miles ahead of where I am right now. Perhaps with a bit less hair.
