Today we learned about "sprints", "icebox" and "scrum" and my first thought was...
I really like the show "Silicon Valley" but it takes on a whole new level now that I am getting immersed in the industry. Coming from hospitality, there is only one icebox and that is where you keep the ice. I might have to go back and watch a few seasons to see if any of the humor takes on a different meaning for me.
Our last assignment has the feel of a real project. We are not just pushing work up to github and having it graded. We are now utilizing Github projects, assigning issues and creating a structured to-do list that includes MVP and extras. It puts us one step closer to being actual developers and not just students getting out of school. And so far it has been a fun project. I have to say when I finally connected my messaging app and received my first message it was the best feeling. You'd have thought I'd invented fire! I built this thing that other people can use. And that's one of the reasons I decided to get into developing in the first place...so that I can create things that people can appreciate.
I hope I can recreate that same feeling with everything I build.
