When your homework project happens to also be the first assignment in a JavaScript for Kids lesson plan, and you still cannot complete it, its not gonna be a good day.
Although I get the logic behind how to set up the various parts of the game. How to use for loops to check letter matching, using math.random to choose a word from an array, and other things like that, putting those puzzle pieces together into a cohesive and working script is still very elusive. I was able to find and work through someone else's example, and at least add my own comments and touches to show that I sort of understand what's going on under the hood. But its still very concerning that I just didn't get it. Maybe its unrealistic to expect that I can sit down on my own at 3 weeks into the program and bang out an awesome game, having never really programmed anything up to this point. Even my instructors agree with that point. So I guess I have to keep hammering away at projects like this.
Still it does little for one's self esteem when most tutorials online refer to the project as "a simple game". And a lot of Youtube videos show someone building it out in less than 20min. I'm like "Bitch I've been working on this since noon yesterday!"
