Evening is my favorite time of the day to be on the coast, to walk along the sea and casually photograph stuff along the way ...
... and Sunday is my favorite day in the week to write a relaxed, loose post about those evening ramblings along the sea shore.
I took these photographs in a few occasions during the last ten days or so ... on one of those evenings, a man was walking along the old dock that is not in use now... not for boats, at least, only for sunbathing and jumping in the sea ...
... the unknown man ended up on the photograph because of his jacket ... the nice red detail in the coastal scenery.
A bit further ... in a muddy inlet, I photographed a bunch of sandpipers.
Some days later, on another evening walk, I photographed a friend of mine ... and three blue Periwinkle flowers in the foreground.
On that same walk I noticed some Ailanthus altissima trees, native to northeast and central China ...
... and I noticed them because of the colorful new leaves that appeared on the branches.
While I was photographing these new shoots that will turn green soon ...
... The Eurasian Jay landed on the small tree ...
... and looked great among the shoots and branches.
After this shot ...
... I found a bottle in the red soil ...
... for a moment I felt like being in the distant future and looking at an ancient artifact.
This cypress spurge on the coastal meadow was photographed on another evening walk ...
... here you can see the same kind of plant ... with more red details on the top of the plant.
A bit further I found a weevil on the dusty road ...
... another weevil of the same kind, I don't know the exact species, was feeding on some small flower ...
... I photographed the Malacosoma castrense caterpillar on the lower leaves of the grass ...
... and the Coenonympha pamphilus butterfly, high on the top of the grass ...
... then, on some leaves of the Dactylis glomerata grass ...
... I found these interesting markings ... maybe made by someone's shoes.
This well camouflaged caterpillar was photographed on a dry straw of that grass.
After photographing this thistle ...
... that grew by the road ...
... I came closer to the water ...
... the sea was turquoise and very clear.
When I zoomed on the village of Liznjan, the nearest village to that stretch of coast, I noticed the smoke above some houses ... the scene looked pretty cool in the evening light.
With this shot the focus is again on the rocks ...
... and the sea.
I photographed some red flowers that created a photogenic combination with the green grass ...
... I photographed a friend by the sea ... the red hair and white jacket looked great in this landscape.
Here you can take a look in the other direction ...opposite to the sea ...
... there was a bit of mist in the distance, the sun was going down ...
... the light was soft and warm ... every layer of landscape looked different ...
... so I took quite a few similar shots ...
... because I enjoyed the scenery very much.
On the way back to the car ...
... I found the grasshopper's wing ...
... and I photographed the rabbit hidden by the road ... I mean, he thought that is hidden, but was well visible, actually. The following shots ...
... were taken from the car ...
... while I was driving home.
