Today I drove about 25 kilometers, parked the car a kilometer or two from the small train station of the village of Jurshichi, and took my Wednesday walk from the car to the aforementioned station.

Soon I encountered an interesting white spider ...

... that was waiting in ambush on the orchid that grew by the side of the road.

The scientific name of the spider is Thomisus onustus. It's a crab spider species. Thomisidae family. Anacamptis pyramidalis is the scientific name of the orchid.

A bit further, 50 meters or so, I came across a pair of moths. These are diurnal moths from the Zygaenidae family. Quite a few confusingly similar species are present in the area, so I don't know which one exactly is this.

Not far from there ...

... a brand new butterfly finished its metamorphosis and came out of the pupa.

This is the Melitaea didyma, a colorful butterfly from the Nymphalidae family.

When I photographed this froghopper from the Aphrophoridae family ...

... the station was very near.

While following the railway ...

... I found another moth. This one was resting on the lower branches of the elm tree. Rhodostrophia vibicaria is the name of the species.

Soon I passed by this lovely bicycle, turned into a flower holder, and then ...

... 20 - 30 meters further, I came across yet another moth. This photograph was taken with the camera flash on because the insect was resting in the shade, so the light was pretty low.

But the moth looked much better in ambient light, so I took another shot that required a bit more patience and concentration. Rhodostrophia pudorata is the name of this species.

Very soon I reached the station ...
