These two cosmic companions already appeared on quite a few occasions in my posts. Since the sun and the moon, seen through the lens of my camera, always look more or less the same, posts like the one I'm offering today can look pretty repetitive, but ...
... but what I can tell you? I mean, I like the sun. I like the moon-especially when is full. I feel inspired to photograph both celestial bodies whenever there is a good opportunity, and I feel the need to make a repetitive post from time to time.
Today's post will be more focused on the moon. The full moon, specifically. I like the way the moon illuminates a small fragment of the big black night sky in the above photograph.
This picture was made by merging three photographs taken from the same place using three different exposure settings. That's why all the details of the skyscape are illuminated and visible. The photographs were taken on the 13th of November 2016, in front of my house. It would have been cool if that 13th of November had been a Friday, but nope, I checked it on my computer a couple of minutes ago - it happened on Sunday.
Here you can take a look at the sun. I mean, the photograph is more about the sunlight. The shape of the sun got lost in the shine. The photograph was taken in January 2015, on the stretch of coastline on the outskirts of my hometown, about a kilometer from my neighborhood.
In this GIF made of two photographs taken in September 2016, you can see the moon moving back and forth in the neverending loop in the sky.
Also in 2016, on the 8th of June, at the end of a long summer day, the disc of the sun was clearly visible and it looked great in the evening sky. It resembled some kind of giant planet made of gas.
