After some driving and things to do around the city, I ended up in my favorite little port ...
... the port of Liznjan, situated about 5 kilometers from where I live ...
... as some pretty spectacular dark clouds were approaching from the sea ...
... and, believe it or not, this isn't the start of the post :D In this short three - shot prologue we are actually somewhere in the middle ...
... because the post's proper start must be here, approximately halfway between the city of Pula and my small hometown ...
... when I noticed the beauty of the clouds ...
... and decided to go to some nice seaside place with a wide open view ...
... so I drove through my hometown ...
... passed by my own house ...
... on my way into the storm ...
... now, you have to know that this was just a short and sudden outburst of rainy weather, not any kind of real storm ... but still, when the sky looks like this, and I'm driving towards that horizon ...
... :D I just can't get this obscure, and in my opinion absolutely great song, out of my mind. I discovered this cool Singer - songwriter purely accidentally, back in 1997 when his first album came out ... and somehow ended up in one of the three small CD shops in Pula. In those days, before being able to explore obscure and weird music of all kinds and from all kind of periods on YouTube, I often in my free time hanged in CD shops in the city, talked with who works there and listened to stuff I never heard before. CD shops and Video rental places were cool social places for a chat and a bit of joking, and since this is a small city you always met someone you know there, and many people weren't in the hurry in those years ... in this area, at least.
So, I saw that album with a long strange name THE MYSTERIOUS TALE OF HOW I SHOUTED WRONG - EYES JESUS - and I had to hear what music is hidden inside. I heard the thing and I liked it very much ... so I bought it. Although I like the album version of the Tornado song, this acoustic version is a real thing to me ... and I discovered it only in 2013 ... on YouTube.
And now :) after this music digression ...
... I'm driving again ...
... and I'm almost there ...
... in the port of Liznjan ...
... while the majority of the local fishing fleet is resting by the dock ...
... one boat is directed towards the dark clouds ...
... and the scenery is dramatic & beautiful ...
... there is a Baywatch tower on the beach near the port ...
... I climbed it to take a few shots from there ... that was the closest thing to a drone that I could use for some elevated imagery that can elevate the entire post.
The orange fishing boat that you saw some shots earlier near the dock, was already pretty far when I was taking these elevated shots.
There is a children park nearby ... it looks strange in this weather, when nobody's there.
This was the darkest part of the horizon ... where some new hotels are under construction behind the wall of untouched vegetation.
This stranded boat was pretty elegant, and I felt particularly inspired when I took this photograph.
The last look at the sky above the bay ... and now ...
... I'm driving home ...
... through Liznjan, the village ... some local farmer is returning from the coastal fields, loaded with cabbages ...
... the first raindrops are starting to appear on my windshield ...
... and this post ...
