I haven't published a #trippythursday post for a while. Months have passed since the last one. Maybe even a year or a little bit more. Can't remember what I was tripping about the last time I used the tag. Now, is time to get trippy again ...
... with some old photographs and fresh new Photoshop edits of those photographs.
It all happened one foggy night in 2013. Late in October, in Medulin, my hometown.
I changed some of those photographs to get them ready for Trippy Thursday, but ...
... but quite a few shots looked surreal and trippy enough in their unaltered versions.
A walk through the fog can easily become a trippy experience, especially at night, and even more especially if the town looks desolate & abandoned like my hometown does when the tourist season is over.
The reduced visibility triggers the imagination ...
... and common things can turn into something exceptional ...
... or into deep but simple abstractions.
These are some distant lights at the end of the road that looked like a tunnel that leads to some kind of shady dreamland.
The moon was full that night. And it was smaller than the streetlamp. Well, from my point of view, at least. It's a strange world.
Hope you'll survive this intense pink.
Here you can see some fishing boats in the harbor.
This shack was photographed in the same area, not far from the pier.
The ordinary pharmacy in the street that leads to the harbor can look pretty trippy sometimes. Like some strange church.
Yeah, things can get trippy from time to time here in Medulin when the fog comes creeping from the sea.
AND THAT'S IT. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS AND THE PHOTOSHOP EDITS OF THOSE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.
#trippythursday is a @blacklux initiative. Haven't seen any post from her for a long time, months have passed, hope she's well.
