Steem-Engine is working now, so I bought 2 BETA and sent it to my play account to open. No luck today and the cards that I got are just meh.
If you haven't used steem-engine to buy the booster packs you can read more about it here. Buying the packs there is a bit cheaper so it is worth a try. Don't expect much, though.
So far, I bought 4 packs and all the cards are weak af. But, who knows, perhaps you'll get lucky. I don't know if I'll be buying more packs or just buy the cards that I want directly. I'll let this season end and hopefully there will be enough players that just got some cards they want to get rid of and you will be able to buy some fine cards with discount.
