Favorite women come to us in the spring, They are unexpected, like rain or snow. Favorite women come to us with stars, When we open one among all. "Favorite Women" music of S.Tulikov, M.Plyatskovsky's words
March 8 - International Women's Day (World Women's Day), which also celebrates the achievements of women in political, economic and social fields, celebrates the past, present and future of women of the planet.
The modern celebration of the Women's Day no longer has the purpose of affirming equality, but is considered the day of spring, feminine beauty, tenderness, spiritual wisdom and attention to the woman, regardless of her status and age.
The holiday is celebrated by the United Nations, and in some countries - Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Ukraine - this day is a national holiday.
It is interesting that the idea of holding the International Women's Day first appeared precisely at the beginning of the 20th century, when the industrialized world experienced a period of expansion and upheavals, a demographic boom and the emergence of radical ideologies.
In 1910, the 2nd International Conference of Working Women was held in Copenhagen. Leader of the women's group of the Social-Democratic Party of Germany Clara Zetkin (Clara Zetkin) put forward the idea of celebrating the International Women's Day. She suggested that Women's Day be celebrated annually in each country on the same day. The purpose of this holiday Zetkin called the struggle of women for their rights.
Although it is believed that the first ever "March of empty pots" of New York textile workers, held on March 8, 1857, was one of the prerequisites for the celebration of the International Women's Day.
The official status of the "International Women's Day" was purchased by the UN in 1975, and since then it has been celebrated annually by the UN as the International Day for the Struggle for Women's Rights and International Peace, and each year is devoted to a certain topic.
On this day, women of all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, have the opportunity to come together and remember the tradition that represents at least a couple of decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.
In ancient Greece, Lysistrata, for the cessation of the war, organized a sexual strike against men; during the French Revolution, Parisian women who advocated "freedom, equality and brotherhood" organized a march to Versailles to demand the granting of women's suffrage to women.
International Women's Day is a celebration of all women who became the creators of history. Not surprisingly, women have become pioneers in many areas - these are just some of the facts combined by the female "first". In January 1906 the first in Russia higher technical educational institution for women was opened in St. Petersburg; in January 1909 in New York the world's first women's motor racing started; in April 1989, the first performance of the female "Vivaldi Orchestra" was held.
And yet, first of all, in today's society, International Women's Day is a holiday of spring and attention to a woman, when representatives of a strong half of humanity can once again please their beloved and native women with gifts and care.
The French Baroness Elis de Laroche made an examination flight on March 8, 1910, thus earning the fame of the first female pilot. In addition, as a result, she received a license to manage an airplane. The fact that the license was issued to her on a "women's day" is just a coincidence, since such a holiday did not exist then.
Fascinated by flights on balloons, de La Roche met in Chalon with aviator Charles Voisin and on October 22, 1909, independently climbed the airplane of Voisin.
Voisin allowed de La Roche only to travel by airplane on the ground, but she disobeyed and flew a few hundred meters. On March 8, 1910, according to the results of the competitions in Heliopolis, the French Aeroclub issued de La Roche certificate of pilot No. 36 - so she officially became the first pilot of France.
July 8, 1910 in Reims de Laroche survived the first serious air crash; recovery took two years. And in the autumn of 1912 there was a car crash in which she again crashed, and Charles Voisin was killed. But Elise did not give up her passion.
For several years de Laroche traveled with the "flying circus" in Europe, flew to Cairo and St. Petersburg. During the First World War, when women were officially barred from flying, served as a driver in the French army.
In June 1919, de Laroche delivered two "female" world records - to the height and range of the flight.
July 18, 1919 de Laroche and the pilot of a two-seat aircraft, on which she planned to take an exam for admission to professional flights, died in a plane crash at the airport of Crotua. Laroche was a passenger in this flight.
The pilot's monument is installed at the Le Bourget airport.
