I will keep this blog as transparent as possible to motivate me and give you an honest impression with all its ups and downs.

Motorcycle Season start!

On Sunday the so-called "season starting" (Anlassen on German) took place at the Nürburgring. Motorcyclists from all over Germany and also from other countries such as the Netherlands or France make the pilgrimage to the Nürburgring on this day, as do I and my motorcycle group, the "Knee-sliders by conviction" (Knieschleifer aus Überzeugung)!

After only 4 hours of sleep I got up and was wide awake, because the anticipation for this awesome event is simply stronger than anything else! I had a quick breakfast, put on the motorbike and drove to the meeting point.

Together with 15 other members of my group, the event took place in the best weather on beautiful motorcycle tracks towards the Nürburgring. Of course we did some speeding, but in such a way that everyone could drive at a good pace and we stayed together as a group. Even a ferry crossing was planned in the route. Our guide, one of the fastest members and really a god on a motorcycle can also remember every route all over Germany, because we drove about 300km without highways to drive over the beautiful routes without navigation or map. He has it all, whether on a relaxed motorcycle tour or with his elbow down on the race track.

At our destination we were surrounded by thousands of bikers who come here every year at this time for the ecumenical blessing of the bikes and motorcycle parade on the Nordschleife, the so-called green hell, one oft the most famous racetracks on the world!

We parked our bikes, got something to eat and drink and looked at the riders on the race track. We also met with other local members of our motorcycle group and talked to each other. You don't see each other so often and then you use the big events for this, no matter whether specially organized parties or even bigger motorcycle specific events like the "season starting".

Finally we went on the famous Nordschleife to the motorcycle parade. Of course the track was very full with thousands of bikers, but this event is also not meant for racing. I highly recommend you to visit this racetrack, because it is by far the most famous and most difficult track to ride, but it gives you an unique feeling.

HERE you can see how it looks like and at the end of the track before the exit we parked our bikes again and spend some more time with your group. Afterwards we sat down again on the bikes and started the 300km long journey home and afterwards we watched the MotoGP in time!

All in all, a fantastic day. It's just endless fun to spend time on a motorbike with your friends. It strengthens friendship and every biker will understand it immediately. It is very difficult to explain this fascination to people who do not ride a motorcycle. Just ride along as a companion with a good motorcyclist and let us show you the nature and freedom!
