During our recent travels around Sri Lanka, we took several train trips throughout the country. Being on a train in Sri Lanka is a proper experience itself. But what really makes the difference is the beautiful views of the breathtaking landscapes around.
Today I want to take you on the world's most scenic train trip!
It's the 7-hour ride from Kandy to Ella in the central mountain range region with the beautiful tea plantations of Sri Lanka you may have heard about. Definitely the greenest and lushest landscape I have ever seen in my life!
With all the doors and windows open you feel completely immersed in the nature and local life as the train crawls slowly through the hills.
Needless to say, this is a popular journey so you should try to book tickets in advance or be first on the train to get a seat. If you鈥檙e unsuccessful the doorway is a great place to sit and enjoy the views!
During the climb up you will get some beautiful views over the endless green tea plantations in the central mountain range of Sri Lanka.
Doors and windows are always open during the ride. So you getting a nice breeze and some epic shots on top :-)
