Last weekend I was a part of a group of 5 that decided to paint a school for underprivileged kids. This school takes care of the kids' needs like reading and writing material, Coloring material and uniforms.
As I was one of the guys with decent drawing skills the tasks of creating a stencil and finishing the outlines was on my shoulders.
We selected an image of kids portraying healthy habits. Like brushing your teeth, bathing and combing your hair.
The challenge was to find a proper scale for the image as it should be ready as well as comprehensible, so that we don't make a fool of ourselves. So we had to try a few times before we set out with the proper stencils made out of chart paper cut out.
Over the time of two days, we painted the background and outlined the sketches.
And finally on the last day we filled in the paint and cleaned up the stains.
For three days, we worked under a hot sun (which were the school-hours) and finally completed the task.
The kids were happy, we had a sense of achievement and the school kids presented us with hand made thankyou greeting cards.
