After speaking with Rahim and Jade, I changed into runner's clothes in room 104. I followed Rahim to the roof, crossed a high crane, and leaped down into a safe landing spot. Rahim guided me through a parkour tutorial until I suffered a sudden seizure caused by my infection.
I needed to get back in touch with Rahim over the comms, and he noted that my efforts were not bad for a new guy. Crane mentioned that he simply wanted to help out and repay the group for their assistance. Rahim instructed me to find him so we could discuss our next moves together.
I stepped into the elevator once more, which brought me straight back to their designated floor.
I ran over to Rahim, who was engaged in a conversation with someone else. Jade soon arrived to speak with him, remarking that Rahim was just smart enough to be dangerous as he worked on explosive charges.
I spoke with Rahim, who advised Crane to change his clothes, mentioning that he had left a fresh outfit in room 104. Brecken needed Crane dressed appropriately for the job ahead.
I entered room 104, which was labeled for guards, and located a large player stash bag. I interacted with the storage and equipped the new runner gear. With fresh clothes on, I prepared to meet Rahim on the tower roof.
I took the stairs all the way up to the top floor and stepped out onto the roof. Rahim was nowhere in sight at first, but I soon spotted him operating the nearby crane. He used the machine to extend a pathway for me, and I climbed up onto the crane structure.
Rather than swinging the crane around to carry me across, Rahim expected me to walk across the long, high beam myself. Looking down from that extreme height was terrifying, but I carefully made my way to the far end where Rahim waited.
Rahim welcomed me to their training gym, stating that the very first thing I needed to master was running. He instructed me to jump straight down to the ground level below.
Crane protested, arguing that the fall would kill him, but Rahim urged him not to be a wimp before leaping off the ledge himself. When I jumped down after him, Rahim screamed out in agony about his leg, only to laugh it off a second later as a joke.
A cushioned landing spot on the ground prevented any injury from the massive drop.
Rahim had set up a typical obstacle course to test how well I could handle different terrain. The parkour tutorial proved incredibly useful, teaching me the essential basic movements required to survive in a world overrun by zombies.
I climbed through the course like a pro. To complete the test, I needed to make my way back to the crane. I scaled the structures and reached the crane once more, but as I prepared to return to the opposite roof, Crane suffered a sudden vision impairment and physical distress.
Crane called out that something was going wrong, and Rahim explained that he was experiencing his very first seizure. Crane had not been aware of these episodes beforehand.
Rahim reassured him that he was not turning into a zombie just yet, but noted that the seizure was a reminder of his infection.
He advised Crane to visit Doctor Zere immediately for a medical checkup and a dose of Antizin. Realizing the reality of his condition, I headed for the elevator to ride down to the ground level.
We'll check what happens next in another post.
