Set some months after the events at the theater, Ellie is seen living in a quiet countryside farmhouse. She sits quietly while examining Joel's broken watch, reflecting on his memory in the quiet morning light.
Moving into the next room, Ellie picks up baby JJ, the child of Jesse and Dina. She carries him gently in her arms, showing how Ellie and Dina are now co-parenting the young child together on the isolated farm.
Carrying JJ around the house, Ellie walks into an art room filled with canvas paintings. Among the artwork, she finds detailed portraits of Dina, JJ, and various scenic landscape sketches hanging on the walls.
Ellie finds Dina in the brightly lit kitchen washing utensils. As Ellie enters with the baby, Dina greets her warmly and asks her to put on some background music while she finishes up her chores.
Ellie walks over to the vinyl record player in the living area. She selects a large record disc and sets the needle down to play music throughout the farmhouse.
With the music playing in the background, Ellie returns to the kitchen and steps up behind Dina. She wraps her arms around Dina in an affectionate embrace, sharing a warm, playful moment together.
Dina mentions that Ollie was left outside and asks Ellie to bring him back in. Ellie steps out onto the porch with JJ and pauses to take in the breathtaking, sunlit mountain views surrounding their homestead.
While scanning the open field for Ollie, Ellie notices a barn situated just past the perimeter wooden fence, alongside a few farm animals grazing peacefully nearby.
Continuing her search, Ellie comes across a large tree with initials carved into the bark reading "D + E." Below the original carving, Dina added "JJ," marking their growing family on the tree.
Ellie continues exploring the immediate exterior of the property, passing by a organized vegetable garden located along the back wall of the main house.
In the open field, Ellie spots a vintage tractor where JJ's stuffed elephant toy, Ollie, was left sitting. Ellie retrieves the toy, climbs up onto the driver's seat with JJ, and enjoys a quiet, peaceful moment outdoors with the baby.
