As a farmer, I have started to cultivate several plant species, some of which are rice, cucumber, watermelon and green beans. one of the things that became my challenge in the cultivation is grayak caterpillar. Grayak caterpillar is one of the most important pest, because it is polyphal or has a wide range of hosts including soybeans, peanuts, cabbage, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and others.

These pests often lead to decreased productivity and even crop failure because it causes the leaves to be torn, cut into pieces and perforated. If not immediately addressed then the leaves of plants in agricultural areas will be exhausted. Young grayak caterpillar is greenish, while the instar caterpillar is finally brownish or dark gray and speckled black and white.

Grayak caterpillar is feared by farmers because every harvest season is always there. The grayak caterpillar attacks the green crops of all stadia. Attacks occur at night and by day, grayak larvae hide at the base of the plant, in the ground or in hidden places. Seranga caterpillar eat leaves from the tip of the leaf and the main bone leaves left behind so live rice plants without leaf blade.

In plants that have formed panicles, grayak worms occasionally cut panicle stalks, even grayak caterpillars also attack green beans that have started yellowing. The yellowed rice stalks were decaying and dying which eventually led to crop failure.
