It is 183m600ft long and 120m.394ft wide.
It was designed by Danish architect Jórn Utzon he said he was inspired by nature its forms and its colours, the clouds,shells,bird wings etc.
The building has a net worth of 4.6 billon dollars.
It took 14years to complete the building, construction started in March 1959 and completed in 1973,though it was envisaged to take four years to complete,with 10,000 construction workers.
It was opened 20 October 1973 by the Queen Elizabeth.
It has up to 8.2million visitors every year, with 2thousand people taking a guided tour of the building.
It has 2500 performances and event yearly.
