"Some people say there is music for every occasion, what songs do you relate to each moment?" A question asked by @tripode in his #bloggingchallenge Part 04 from earlier this year.
I love music. I don't know too many artists. I went my whole childhood never owning a cassette. I owned 2 CD's in my childhood-Metallica Black and the Tarzan movie soundtrack...however, there is still music that gets me going and that I can relate to in different moods.
When I'm happy/excited, I can relate to Pharrell William's Happy. It may not be what I would listen to in the moment, but it has the pep that would string along my step.
When I'm feeling like life just isn't going the way I want, I relate to "If I Were a Rich Man" I'd have two staircases, one going up and one going down lol
When I'm feeling homesick, I relate to "Home" It's one where if I'm already feeling down, it doesn't help me get picked back up, so I have to listen to something else, but it definitely is something I relate to in that mood of saudades.
When I'm feeling peppy, like the Happy song, I often turn to "Fly Me to the Moon" It's different kind of peppy, though. It's a feeling of positivity, but calm cooooolness.
When I'm feeling silly, I relate to Swinging on a Star because its lyrics are fun.
If I'm feeling jealous, which doesn't happen much, I relate to "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive," which is a good reminder that we all just need to not get caught up in the negative or mess with Mr. In-Between.
If I'm feeling lazy/tired of working, I relate to Billionaire,
Lastly, if I'm feeling like enjoying a holiday, like Christmas, it's one of two emotions: The calming sounds of "Mary, Did You Know"
or the fun, "It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas"
I guess I just like Bing, Buble, and Blue eyes...alliteration...ok, old school, smooth music. But I also enjoy the rock of Metallica, Green Day, and more.
I'm not much of a country boy, but I can listen to some Garth Brooks, Allison Kraus, and so on...the more "Pop" like country.
What do music do you relate to? Did you find something in common with me?
