I don't follow the Weekend Experiences, but I do like reading your posts. As Goddesseva mentioned below, the Weekend community is yours and you should decided the direction it goes.

Funny how I read Edicted's post on When Hobbies Become Jobs, whereby money needs to be given away for free to build up a community just before this post. I guess this can be seen initially as the hook and if the community is enticing enough, people will stay for the people aspect of it.

I would say have faith in the community you built and if removing that incentive leads to a decrease in activity, so be it. At least you know the ones who stay are there to help you build it further. All the best!
