My tomato and cucumber yields were minimal this year, as was the case with my neighbors. All of our plants started healthy, flowered well, and then stopped growing.
Wierd weather? It was, so maybe. Soil issues? No change in how we prep and maintain, so not likely.
Whatever thecase, I did get enough to make one of my favorite summer sides: Tomato and cucumber salad. In it's simplest form, as seen here, they're tossed with a hint of salt and pepper. In cooler weather, I'd include thinly sliced red onion, and toss with some red wine vinegar. But for hot summery days, this hits the spot.
