Tie and dye is a form of textile design commonly known among the yorubas as adire. Which means you tie the fabric and then dye as well. There are different method of finishing adire.
It's indeed a wonderful experience and exploring art is really amazing. Should I start with type of fabric to be used ? 100% cotton is ideal and suitable as some fabric won't do well in dye.
Secondly is your choice of colors, for me I prefer a secondary and primary color or a dim/dark dye alongside light dye. Yellow and brown is not a bad combination I guess. But your choice of colour or rather sense of colors really matters.
Necessary materials for tie and dye are as follows; caustic soda, hydrosulpite , twine, spoon dye and fabric
