Traveling with family and friends can be fun and eventful but when you're traveling alone, it's a whole different experience. You'll get to do whatever you want, whenever you want and however you want. Sounds good, doesn't it? It is; I've visited France, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands and other European countries as a solo female traveller. When I was first planning my trip, I thought, "This is stupid, I won't make it. It's going to be too dangerous for a scrawny Asian girl to travel alone in a foreign land." No, I'm not kidding; I really did think that. But then I thought heck with it! I'm doing this! Before booking my flight tickets, I did some research :
With this, I felt 10 times safer traveling. I've also printed all my documents and arranged them in a folder to avoid further complications when on the road. For safety purposes, always avoid back alleys and stay with the crowd. If you’d like some time away from the crowd and prefer to spend some time alone, do have something to protect yourself with (in case of an emergency) – though I’ve never found the use for it before, I always have pepper spray in my bag.
