I was in the middle of attending to my kid's medical checkup when my mom texted me that we'll have a family lunch at a certain resto. I almost forgot, it's my sister's birthday. I haven't greeted her yet. If my mama had not texted me I'd probably let the day pass without remembering it. My bad! Well, have to impute my being forgetful to adulting. 馃榿
So we went to Maison De Clarke Grill and Resto Bar. Only times like this that we get to be together with my family especially with my parents and siblings. Thankfully, they reside in the neighoring town and within our town so we get to be together during special ocassions at one call or text.
My parents already had the food ordered before we arrived there. When we got there we already had a long table reserved for us ready with utensils and all we had to do was wait for the food to be served.
THE FOOD
The food was served to us as soon as everyone arrived. My mom ordered a platter of assorted mouthwatering foods which is composed mostly of seafoods. My eyes widen in excitement and hunger seeing these food because I love seafoods and I don't usually serve these at home. Seafoods like scallops, crabs and squid are not always available in town market.
In a clockwise manner we have sliced apples and watermelon, kinilaw (cubed raw fish tossed with vinegar mixed with onions, ginger and calamansi juice and salt), calamaris (breaded fried squid), grilled squid, fried pork, dipping sauce, salted eggs, pancit bam-i, simple boiled crabs, fried fish, soy sauce and vinegar as dipping sauce and adobong kangkong. At the center is rice topped with scallops, and on the side is fried chicken.
Another plate of rice was also served. Of course rice is life? We never consider it a meal without rice...and more rice. 馃榿
Here's closer look at some of the food served for you to drool over. 馃榿馃榿馃榿
Each serving is good for at least two people. We were eight adults and eight kids during the occassion. The amount of food was enough for all of us except for the rice. We added another cups of rice. We love rice.
Overall the food was good, well-cooked and delicious. It's a 9/10 for me. One platter costs 1980. It was enough for us to enjoy and fill our hungry stomach.
THE AMBIANCE
The resto bar is a gated property. I don't know how to categorize it but it is not purely a restaurant but looks like a resort too. They have recreational facilities like a small swimming pool and a playground for children. I can call it a restaurant and a resort. The property is beautifully landscaped too.
These are the dining area to experience a relaxing meal with family or friends. I love how they incorporate indigenous design to the place using bamboos, abaca, seashells and stones.
They have small swiming pool where children can enjoy swimming while the adults enjoy the food and some chit chats but of course supervision is a must when you have kids in the pool.
There's a playground for children. Slides and swing for them to enjoy.
A stage where a band can perform during the weekends.
More beautifully placed landscaping structures to add relaxing and fun vibe to the place and to feel the spirit of Christmas.
More than the place, is memories we made as we celebrated my sisters birthday. Another treasured memories to keep and will always remember. These are the happy times!
Wishing you all a merry christmas and happy new year!
