I have traveled to a relatively small, actually medium-sized city in Romania, and I can say that it is my favorite place in which I would like to live. I've been to this city many times, sometimes just passing through, and I've only stayed a few hours, or another time I've visited a few days. For me, a few days means a lot.

A few days of walks, museum visits, and many, many photos.

I have written many times about Sibiu, this city in the center of Romania, an old city where there are still houses that were built in the 1200s! I wasn't even born then, hahaha...

A post by@missdeli, Lost in Sibiu, Romania, which reminded me of my previous blogs and the promise that I will continue the presentation of the largest ethnological park in Europe, called Astra Museum Sibiu. As this is a series, I will remind those who don't yet know about this museum of my previous stories, in fact the first two series of this series: Astra Museum Sibiu and Young And Free.

The third part is about windmills, not only windmills but more about them, which are the most photogenic objects in this museum!

The photos will continue to be the law, I will try not to get lost in words, to be more concise and let the images speak, and, above all, to show the beauty of the place I invite you to visit!

I have to leave the alley to the windmills because there are still things to see in this huge museum with life-size exhibits, which are real houses and machines used by real people many decades ago.

In this museum, the peasant houses are not only exhibited individually. Whole villages are reconstructed here.

I was pleased to see that a place was set up to show the hospitality of the peasants and the modules where they gathered to enjoy themselves together. Of course, over a meal, a barbecue.

In my view, the allure of this place stems mainly from its natural surroundings. The forest, water, and grass alone would be sufficient for happiness there.

Places to rest after work or too much walking.

On hot summer days, this is a perfect place to get out of the sun in the cool shade of the forest. It is great for children. Everyone finds something to do that they enjoy.

So, slowly, slowly we approach the place with the windmills, but until there we can still see an installation used by the peasants of old. Made of wood and stone...

The Windmills

The first ones I have seen are small and quite insignificant, probably from small villages with few inhabitants.

Then come those of remarkable size. Mills were some of the most important and useful machines that turned wheat or corn into flour.

Next are the windmills that I like the most.

The one I like the most has something that sets it apart from the others with wooden propeller. This one has Sails!

You are probably wondering why there is a boat there. The answer is simple, the mill is from a region by the sea.

Isn't it like you're waiting for it to take off?

The second mill has something special, this is a Smock Mill!

I mean a mill with a detachable roof, like a hat.

I don't know how it works, I've never seen anything like this before. I had a little look inside. Everything is made of wood.

I liked this part of the park the most but I had to move on...

But it was impossible not to turn around and look at the mills.

From the departure, they look like strange creatures, like something out of a sci-fi movie.

There is also in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, a Village Museum, which is located on the edge of the largest park, Herastrau Park. It's a well-made, renowned museum, and for a long time I thought it was the biggest and most beautiful in our country. Until I saw the Astra Muzeum. I'm totally impressed by the size of this place and I'm looking at all the open space next to the windmills.
