The time has come to talk about death. The truth is that now, as I am on the road to the 70th year of my life, I am thinking more and more about death and I could say, without fear of being wrong, that I think about it every day.
One of the most famous verses in the Romanian language sounds something like this (I say something like this because it is impossible to translate poetry into a language other than the one it was written in without it being changed, always to its detriment)...
I never thought I'd ever learn to die
I didn't think I'd ever learn to die
Purely young, wrapped in my mantle
My eyes lifted dreamily to the star
Loneliness.
When suddenly you rise in my path,
Your suffering, painfully sweet...
To the bottom I drink the pleasure of merciless death.
The poem is called Ode (in ancient meter) and was published in 1884.
The poet is Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889), a Romantic poet, considered the greatest Romanian poet!

Unfortunately, at some point, each of us will have to learn to... die!
I had several times intended to write about death, thinking that Silver Bloggers would be a good place to discuss such topics, but, then I stopped, thinking, likewise, that maybe it's not good to talk about rope in the hanged man's house, haha... perhaps not all people can detach themselves from this stress of death to which we are all indebted.
In this context, I found the opportunity for such a theme, suggested by @galenpk for WEEK 142 - Weekend-Engagement initiative
"Got to die somehow: Would you rather..."
... and we got three options to choose from: eaten by a shark; fall out of a plane without a parachute or trampled by a herd of elephants.
As I said at the beginning, I think about death and when you think about death, you think, of course, how you would like it to be (or how you wouldn't want it to be, of course).
First of all, I wouldn't want (and I think it's a general human desire) death to be painful! The best option, which we sometimes hear, sounds something like this ... "He passed away peacefully and quietly in his bed"..., but unfortunately, this option doesn't happen very often.
So, I think it's obvious that I'm ruling out the possibility that wild animals could "help me" cross over!
I chose the only acceptable option for me...
Fall out of a plane without a parachute!
...for several reasons:
In a more distant and unhappy time in my existence, I did some research to find out what would be the most painless way to kill myself. I came to the conclusion that falling from a great height is the best, the crushed head causes instant death. I also, without intending to, verified this conclusion when I had an accident and fell off a ladder. I didn't even realize the fall, I just woke up from a faint, full of blood, I don't know how long after. It was a fall from a height of only 2 meters.
A fall from a few thousand feet can only allow more time for... regret!Flying, by my own means (which can also be a fall), was a dream of mine that I didn't dare to believe could be turned into reality. In this case, a reality of a few tens of seconds...
I love the sea. I'm thinking it could be a fall from a plane at the seaside, a death at the seaside. Here I refer again to the national poet, about whom I spoke at the beginning, who had a similar wish (unfortunately unfulfilled, because he died in a psychiatric clinic and was buried in the most special cemetery in Bucharest, called Bellu).
I have one more longing:
I have one more longing
In the quiet of the evening
Let me die
At the edge of the sea;
Let me sleep soundly
And the forest is close,
The vast waters
May I have a clear sky.
I don't need flags,
I will not rich coffin,
You're weaving a bed for me
From young branches.

I am a pessimist.
I don't even want to think about what my death might be like.
The sand flows in the hourglass...
