In this weekend, I played my Control Deception deck. My starting rank was Twilight Shadow, and I had a good weekend in this week, getting 11/18(1 fate pack).
I finally had some decent luck and also went from Auric Gold to Solar Gold while playing Arradion Ramp Magic, which I will make a post later.
Game 1
This game is played against Coconut Combo Light. Luckily Control Deception has some great ways to counter combo decks.
Mulligan/1 Mana
I have a decent hand opening. Seeing the Dowsing Blade means that it is a Coronet Combo deck. I topdeck Bound by Her Will which can be used to steal their Coronet.
2 Mana
Crooked Quartermaster + Pip allows me to get Hunting Trap which is needed for 9-drops.
3 Mana
I attack and use GP for more cards. My opponent tries to dig cards.
4 Mana
I play Guild Enforcer. They still need 1 more turn to play it.
5 Mana
Finally Cutthroat! I send Divine Coronet away. Seeing the rest of their hand ensures that they don't have another Guiding Light or Fated Arrival.
5.5 Mana
I mill a Quartermaster... Here I play another Guild Enforcer.
6 Mana
Sit Down actually makes my Pickpocket's strength to 1. I use GP and finds reformation which is used to increase my Quartermaster's strength to 1. (6.5 Mana)With a pip they used Lysander's Mercy.
6.5 Mana
Nothing to do here so I play Blade borrower. They Wrong Path my Blade borrower which is good since they just could've send the Soulless away.
7 Mana
I play the rest of the Blade Borrower and use CTI. Other than Generous Aid there is not much going on there.
7.3 Mana
We know that they're not playing more relics so I play Counterfeit. I play another Pickpocket and also play Rune of Life to prevent Heal.
7.6 Mana
Enlightment means there will be a Coronet Next turn. I play Beguiling Blade and play Stoneskin on my creature?? to get more cards fpr Scavenger Impling. Here I check my void to see what did Pickpocket Steal and it was Born Again maybe but I'm not sure.
8 Mana
They finally play Coronet and gets a 9/9. Now I could Reformation one of them and steal it. I steal Coronet here because the 9/9 can be killed by Hunting Trap.
8.25 Mana
Thawed Heart only heals 1 which is good for me. Here my board is a little bit stuck and I GP to get something useful. Not a big thing but I should've gave +3 armor to the 5/4. I enlightment here and get Hunting Trap+Charm for the 9/9 since they only have that creature in their deck/void.
8.5 Mana
Since they Wrong Pathed my 5/4 I play it again. I also use GP and use Sit Down since it doesn't draw cards although it is useless right now.
8.75 Mana
Attack and using Stoneskin on my 1/1 to get more board space. They play another Lysander's Mercy and use Forged in the Light.
9 Mana
Anyway, Witherfingers is a strong 8/6 that could win the game. I still don't know how chosen one works when the chosen one is stolen and is in another deck, but it seems like it did not work. GG!
My Deck:
Opponent's Deck:
Game 2
Mulligan/1 Mana
Enrage = Aggro Style so I look for low cost cards. Stoneskin Poison is a great answer to their 3/2.
2 Mana
Even though there will be no Guild cards, I play Armor Lurker for removal. Blade of Styx is a little but it helps.
3 Mana
It is tricky to decide to attack so I GP which is not really good. I clear their 3/2 which is not really a good option. They also equip Blade of Styx.
4 Mana
GP for removals. Luckily I find 2 of them. Cunning Challenger is ok if they don't have ward/hidden
5 Mana
Great Topdeck! Armor Lurker procs the Ally and I'm able to kill the Cunning challenger.
5.5 Mana
Tavern Bralwer+GP enables them to kill my Crooked Quartermaster but I could use Demoralise to kill it. I also use GP and takes Retribution for more removals.
6 Mana
Hidden is bit hard to answer but Beguiling blade takes 2 strength. GP also gives Savage Strike which is nice against aggro.
6.5 Mana
Draka Gather is really mean and I use Raptune Dance to kill it. They still got 2 shards though.
7 Mana
They have a 3/4 and 3/1. With savage Strike and GP I'm able to clear their board.
7.3 Mana
Glinn is scary since they can have a big turn next round. I stoneskin it to prevent 5 dmg and also uses The Fox's Venture since I have some mana left and it would be wise to buff a Frontliner with armor.
7.6 Mana
Witherfingers is tempting but I play Quartermaster + Guild Enforcer. Here I get Hunting Trap and go for the +1 health since Afterlife doesn't matter right now.
8 Mana
However they misplay here! They should've buffed Reios by GP so it could kill Guild Enforcer. Instead they miss it and quits. GG!
Opponent's Deck:
Game 3
This game doesn't have commentry, but like most Aggro vs Control, I have a hard time in the beginning but manages to outlast wild nature.
Conclusion
It has been a really good week for me. Thanks for reading and I hope everyone has a good week here.
