Hello Gods Unchained Community,
dgae.png
Chosen One is a unique mechanism in GU. It chooses a random creature in your deck as "Chosen One" until that creature goes to void. In this deck, there is only 1 creature, which is Divine Coronet.

I saw this deck in Copperpitch's video below, and I tried it out by renting Coronet and a few other cards.

Deck

This deck's win condition is to buff the Coronet (aka Coconut) with the cards below.

The rest cards are mostly to keep your god alive.

Of course, it is a meme deck, so the win rate is not really great.

But, if you are lucky enough, you can get any 9 drop at turn 4. For example:

Turn 1: Dowsing Blade
Turn 2: Heal
Turn 3: (Pip) Guiding Light
Turn 4: Play a 5/5 Coronet, it becomes 5/9 and you get to choose a 9-drop.

And those are some of the best creatures that you can choose.

Polyhymnia: The best 9-drop in the game. 6/10 with 4 armor and ward so it can't be killed easily.
Avatar of Magic: This card in 5 Mana is a really big threat. If your opponent can't kill it, it is GG.
Thaeriel's Anvil: Summons 4/7 frontline each turn.
Anagreos: 12/7 with Godblitz. But it is weak because it has no protected/ward.

Gameplay 1 vs Mage

Mulligan/1 Mana

I have a decent hand, but I draw Coronet, which is really bad. We don't play anything until turn 3.

4 Mana

My opponent played Pallas on turn 3, and I pip and play The Divine Coronet. I have to get it back to the deck, because in hand it won't get the "Chosen One". But...

5 Mana

I draw The Divine Coronet again. I try to take less damage from Monolith by using Reformation and Eucos in Eclipse. My opponent ramps up.

5.5 Mana

I play The Divine Coronet. The options aren't really great, and I choose Anagreos. But, my opponent kills Anagreos. Looking back I should've picked a different creature, but this wins the game.

6 Mana

Great time for Enlightment. I discard Fated Arrival and Wrong Path, and I get Lysander's Mercy and Guiding Light, hoping to use it to play Coronet again. I also play Forty Days.

6.5 Mana

I heal up with Prayer of the Desperate and GP. I use Censure on the 1/1 creatures because they can pop protected on my god.

7 Mana

I clear the board. Next turn, I can get another 9-drop. My opponent misplays here by playing a Pyramid Warden(there is only 1 creature in my void, which is Anagreos)

7.3 Mana

I use Guiding Light to find The Divine Coronet. I find Avatar of Magic, which can deal a lot of damage. And I should've used Guiding Light.

7.6 Mana

There is lethal here, but I miss it. The correct line should've been

  • Guiding Light
  • Beam X 6 (Ward, Protected, 20 Damage)
  • Anagreos (Pyramid Warden's afterlife, 12 Damage)

Instead, I play Pacifism and miss it. My opponent also clears my board with Unbound Flames.

8 Mana

Luckily, there were creatures in Sanctum, so I use one to target Beam and it's GG.

Gameplay 2 vs Deception

No commentry on this one, but in general they win by playing strong cards at high mana. Although I get Thaeriel's Anvil, it is weak against Deception because of Raptune Dance.

Conclusion

Overall it's a fun deck to play. If you are lucky you can play Poly early against Aggro decks. But the win rate is bad because if you get Coronet before it is chosen as the Chosen One, most of the time it would be hard to win.

But since this deck is a meme deck, you can just play it for fun. Against control, it is not fun.
