Planning my SEED STARTING Calendar!

My BEST Seed Starter Planning

After sowing seeds in my basement, and living in the same area of the country for decades, I have a really good sense of when it is best to Start Seeds. Here's my calendar where I describe when i start seeds, what type, and how many seed starts per person for feeding for a typical year.

I base it on my AVERAGE Last Frost Date, in my zipcode, which you can find from Farmer's Almanac!

This is by NO MEANS, the definitive list of how many plants per person, to feed for a typical year. I use this as my starting point, and make changes, based on how my own family eats, and what they like and don't!

Most of you know, I prefer to grow my own food, locally. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking, planes, trains, and boats, to get fresh foods to my table.

And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.
