Seems, they believed, perceived, this pirate, to be bad. In reality, he ended up taking her as his wife. Spent forever, loving her, and only her. It turns out, he meant it. He became the best husband a parent could wish for, for their daughter.
....It's all a matter of perspective!
The Story, of Same Bellamy, and the Pirate Ship Whydah takes place over the towns of Provincetown, where the original Whydah Pirate Museum is, Truro, where the restaurant was, and the Hallet family lived. And Wellfleet, where the ship was wrecked on the shores, one stormy night, long. In addition, there is a Hallet Marsh, Hallet field, and more, in Eastham. West Yarmouth, farther out on Cape Cod, has the newer, larger Whydah Museum. It's a pretty cool perspective on the life and treasures of the only known Pirate's Treasure found to date.
If you come visit Cape Cod, I look forward to helping you to explore all of the Same Bellamy, Pirate Ship Whydah, and Goody Hallet hotspots of Cape Cod!
