Hello !
If you find horror movies with evil dolls disturbing, you might not want to see this post.
Today I made a new drawing and, for the first time, I took pictures of the process. I never documented the progress before because:
One of my favorite things to draw is little girls who look like dolls .Or dolls that look like little girls, I am not sure.
The first materials I used are very rare and hard to find as you can see below:
I draw a very ugly and messy doll as I already warned you:
I play with the facial features a lot which means I keep drawing and erasing the face...
Until I'm happy with the result:
Or I just get too tired, or the paper can't take erasures anymore.
So I decided to let this girl live.
I draw with an ink pen over it to make it permanent. From this moment I can't change my mind anymore.
I erase the pencil until it looks as if it was drawn directly with the pen. I am very jealous of people who don't use pencil and eraser but I never told anyone before. Until now.
Then I continue playing with the ink pen a bit more but not too much because I can't erase it :(
Now it's time to color it. My favorite medium is colored pencils. I like it so much because it reminds of my childhood. I am a strong independent woman now but my favorite thing in life is pretending I'm a 5 years old kid.
However, I prefer staying an adult because I can afford buying my own colored pencils and I don't have to steal things from my brothers anymore. I am also very happy I can get what I want from the grocery store without crying or making a scene.
Here's a photo of some of my favorite colored pencils ( Yes, I've got much more ) :
I'm getting back to the drawing. My girl just needs some colors, so I start coloring:
Then I keeps adding more layers until I think it's enough, or the paper can't take it anymore :)
So, I decided to stop here and consider the drawing ready :
