Currently I have the same experience on my iPhone 6 as I do on a friend’s iPhone 10s for all the main features I use daily. Sure the 10s is buttery smooth, but for real world use I can still get by on my 5 year old iPhone 6.
I know, since Apple is so keen on the Subscription Service Model, maybe they should introduce iOS+.
For $9.99 a month you can experience iOS+, but it is only compatible with the iPhone 10, 10s, the iPad Pros and the all new iPhone Pros perhaps in 2020. iOS+ will be the Star Trek/Star Wars/Marvel/DC/Game Of Thrones or whatever theme you wish to choose, instead of GarageBand you get Logic+ and instead of iMovie you get Final Cut+ that plus whatever the developing teams come up with to make iOS+ the best iOS Apple has ever created. Each iOS+ subscriber will also receive 256gb of iCloud storage.
Of course iOS will still be free for all other iPhone & iPad Models in the existing Apple consumer ecosystem. Thus making upgrading to the newer phones a little more enticing.
In 2021 Apple may offer iOS+ to Android users for $9.99 a month.
You will be advised once subscribing to the new iOS+ app to back up your Android data to the new Google Android Portal. Once this transfer is complete you will be able to view your securely saved Android OS on a simulated phone screen or full screen in landscape mode on the Google Android Portal from your Laptop or Desktop. I'm sure with Google Stadia, they can achieve an Android Emulation. No sim card, only Wi Fi calls.
Once this transfer is complete you can reopen the iOS+ app and it will give the choice of either partitioning your phone's internal hard drive to be a dual boot OS (ie. Android or iOS+) or you can choose to reformat the phones internal hard drive and cleanly install iOS+.
Google will create its own Android Portal app on the Apple Store for old Android users to synch their personal data from their Google Android Account into the iOS+ Third Party Device.
In 2022, Apple introduces MacOS+ which includes an iOS+ App that launches your iOS+ display fullscreen or scaled to your viewing pleasure. Landscape Mode will be the default, Portrait Mode will have similar blurred effects to fill out the screen like the videos on YouTube. With this iOS+ app you can access all your SMS messages, e-mails, Games, Logic+, Final Cut+ and other iOS+ apps, even make and receive phone calls.
MacOS+ will cost you $9.99 a month and it will give you 512gb of iCloud storage and a 6 month subscription to Apple TV+.
In 2023 Google launch the all new Android+ app on the Apple Store. This app literally turns iOS+ into Android+ device. You now have the best of of both worlds. The hardware wars can truly begin.
Apple offers MacOS+ to Windows 10 users for $9.99 a month with all the bells and whistles, maybe even 1TB of storage to win them over, or perhaps a 12 month subscription to Apple TV+.
2024 Microsoft Windows 10 becomes a new app called Windows Plus on the Apple Store. It too transforms your MacOs+ into a Windows Plus machine.
Of course both Google Android+ and Microsoft Windows+ will also be a $9.99 per month subscription with similar perks.
For the shareholders, Window 10 costs about $150 ONE OFF. Android is free, iOS is free, MacOS is free.
Now each OS will be making their shareholders $120 a year, per user, for years to come.
And think of all that new funding rolling in potentially going towards improving the Plus versions of these OS's to make them truly worth subscribing to.
