I see this as a potential stepping stone for Facebook. If they can get just a small number of their users to adopt GlobalCoin as an intrasite currency, they can then parlay that relationship into a crypto exchange by allowing users to trade their native currency with BTC, ETH, and other popular coins. That will allow them to take commissions based on those trades. Instead of seeing it as a threat to Steem, we should see it as a welcome opportunity to put crypto into the limelight and perhaps use Facebook to draw more users to Steem.
