As I said, I'm not wedded to this proposal. It's the simplest thing I can think of to reduce auto-votes. Whether that's really beneficial or not we will probably only know if we try it. It's a simple change, and we could see in a month or so if it has any real impact.

If the real purpose is to reduce inflation by 2% why don't we simply change the code?

Well, that's what I'm proposing. I'm suggesting removing it from curation rewards. Are you suggesting it be removed equally from all rewards instead? If so, my argument against that is that won't reduce auto-voting, which was the one of the major ideas driving the proposal.
