A Big Hello to all WOO Fans! 🥳🥳🥳 WOO!
It is another quiet weekend in WOO, and honestly, I am starting to wonder if we are looking at the wrong thing. Maybe we are expecting a big announcement, a special event or some kind of weekend activity when the new Ranked system has already given WOO something else to keep everyone occupied. The queue is now doing a lot of the work in the background, so perhaps there is no need for WOO to make a big noise about it every Saturday and Sunday.
I have gotten some feedback that reminders are pretty useful when it comes to the regular events held in WOO. So here I am again with a quick reminder for any upcoming events.
The whole idea behind Async Ranked is that players can create their Shows and leave them waiting. That means a player does not need to be online at the same time as the person who eventually challenges them. Once a Show is submitted, it can sit there for up to 24 hours waiting for another real player. So while the Discord might look unusually peaceful, there could actually be plenty happening inside the game.
I can imagine someone creating a Show on Friday night and then forgetting about it completely by Saturday morning. Meanwhile, another player wakes up, opens WOO, sees an eligible Show waiting and decides to take the challenge. Neither player needs to organise a time together. Neither needs to sit around watching a matchmaking screen. The Show simply waits until somebody is ready.
That makes a quiet weekend feel slightly different now.
Before, I might have looked at a quiet WOO weekend and thought, “Nothing is happening.” Now I could just as easily think, “Something is probably happening, I just cannot see it yet.”
And that is actually quite fitting for Ranked. There is a mystery element built into the system because neither side knows who the other player is before both teams are committed. The Promoter does not know who will challenge them, while the Challenger does not know who created the Show. So perhaps WOO being quiet is just part of the mystery.
Maybe there are Shows sitting in the queue right now with some very interesting lineups waiting to be discovered.
I also like that the system does not rely on bots to fill the gaps. Every Ranked opponent is still another player with their own wrestler cards and their own decisions. That means the quiet periods are not necessarily empty periods. They can simply be the spaces between one player's Show being created and another player's decision to take it.
So if there is no big WOO weekend event this time around, I am not going to complain too much. I might just take a look at Ranked, see what is waiting and wonder who created the next mystery match sitting in front of me.
Sometimes the most interesting thing in WOO might be the match nobody has revealed yet.
TLDR: This is a reminder to all my readers (and WOO fans) that baring any last minute sudden surprise events, this weekend should be a relatively quiet one. 😜
Well, that's it for today. We will continue again tomorrow! 😁 WOO! 🎉

The main reason I got into WOO was pretty much thanks to
PIZZA is an active gaming and creative arts crypto community on the HIVE blockchain. Popular games on HIVE like SPLINTERLANDS, RISING STAR, EXODE, HASHKINGS, WOO, TERRACORE have their own PIZZA communities here.
If you read this and still have not heard of either WOO or PIZZA, feel free to join the WOO DISCORD and PIZZA DISCORD where you will meet a very welcoming community.
Also, if you've bought some WOOALPHA, SATURN or RAVEN packs and somehow have no idea how to open your packs, feel free to head to https://play.wrestlingorganizationonline.com/open to unwrap your shiny packs and hope that the RNG Gods smile on you! 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀
