i still remember telling grandma how expensive it was getting in and out of university, she was floored by the HUGE amount i was getting paid at my part time job and was like "why are you spending so much money" (which i was certainly not) and then she said to my mum, how much will it cost her to get a little car and put petrol in in... and i said g-ma, the parking at university is like $15 a day let alone petrol and the car, and she was like... ah.... ok the two trains and a bus i now think is best. lol..
However the change in circumstances between that generation and me today is huge. However im sure also the keeping up with the Jones, is worse today that it was. The growth of consumerism has hit full force.
Im not sure, but its hard looking at this younger generation coming through, they seem so "wet behind the ears" lol... just not capable and i keep thinking... "did my parents generation think this about me..." and then i think "no i was actually sensible..." lol... Which i was. i felt very capable.
These kids. Im not sure... I can see us with "tik toks" being made in parliaments insert eye roll
Are we getting worse on the whole, is it society, or are we just ebbing and flowing as we always have?
